A ghostly Lady in Grey has been caught on camera at historic Dudley Castle in the West Midlands.
The creepy image was taken with a mobile phone by a couple from the top of the 11th century castle reputed to be one of the most haunted in Britain. Locals speculate it might be Dorothy Beaumont wife of a Royalist from the English civil war in 1642, who was denied her dying wish to be buried next to her daughter.
The medieval castle is within the grounds of Dudley Zoological Gardens, which runs several vital conservation projects and breeding programmes, including the Asiatic lion and Sumatran tiger.
There might be an alternative explanation. Given the location, might this spectre represent the ghostly Lady in Grey seen by Ben Whittenbury in The Earth Emperor’s Eye? It has begun!
